Tracy Britan

Tracy Britan

Originally from Tampa, Florida, Tracy came to Atlanta in 1994 to escape the heat and to make her way in the boom economy of early 1990’s Atlanta. A graduate of the University of Florida, Tracy majored in history and minored in vocal performance. She is currently the Business Applications Trainer for the Southeast Region at National Cable Communications. Simply put, she teaches cable advertising salespeople how to operate their computer software.

At UF, Tracy was a member of the University Choir, Chamber Singers (madrigals/jazz choir), Women’s Choir, and the Sigma Alpha Iota women’s music fraternity. She also sang in a professional production of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly. Since coming to Atlanta, she has been a member of the Song of Atlanta Show Chorus (a championship Sweet Adelines barbershop chorus), performed for six seasons at the Georgia Area Renaissance Festival, and was a member of the Michael O'Neal Singers in Roswell. Tracy was married in 2005 and in 2006 Tracy and her husband, Joel, became the proud parents of a daughter -- Jacqueline.

Shir Harmony has finally given Tracy a real way to connect to her Jewishness through song, to explore Jewish vocal music, and to share what she’s learned in that process with the community. She also really loves rehearsing, laughing, eating, driving around town, and generally bonding with her Shir Harmony pals!
